Today I’m going to tell you about the time I decided to walk myself. It was pretty early during this adventure, in the great land of Texas. Normally, Tom walks me to all sorts of interesting places, but I had an itch to look around some more. One day, after we came back from our regular walk, I jumped out of our traveling den without my leash and started exploring on my own!
Tom was surprised and yelled “Hey!” (which means “I’m surprised!”). I ran over to the neighbor for a few seconds, until he barked at me and chased me away. Tom started following me, calling me and clapping. I love it when he claps, it means he’s happy!
Anyway, I kept on exploring and went out the back gate of our territory. Tom was still following and clapping, but now his clapping was a little more frantic. The big trucks on the highway were scaring me a little, so I decided to go to Tom. He was VERY happy when I went to him, and told me I was such a good doggie. But, I think he was also a little scared. That was the last time I went very far from where he was.
Next week, we’re going to Canada! Tom says it’s even bigger than Texas! I’m sure I’ll have many interesting stories to tell, so keep following. I can hardly wait, it’s going to be so much fun!
