Oh! Canada!

Tom and I finally made it into Canada! We hooked up our den-on-wheels early in the morning and reached the border around lunchtime. There was another one of those little roadside dens on the other side.

We’ve been seeing these tiny dens right along the road all the time since we reached the Atlantic Ocean a few months ago. Tom usually has to stop and pay the people living in them to drive on their road. I like these people, because a lot of times, they give me treats!

This time, Tom didn’t have to pay anything. He showed some papers to the lady who lived there and talked with her for a while. After she gave me my treat, Tom pulled up a little way to park. He left me in the truck and went into one of the buildings.

After a while, he came back out with a man dressed all in black. The man had all kinds of things hanging from his belt. Tom sometimes hangs things from his belt too, but this man looked like he had a whole hardware store. Tom put my leash on me and took me out of the truck. I tried to look closer at the man’s belt, but he gave me a mean look and Tom pulled me away.

The man started opening up everything and looking inside. Tom didn’t seem to care, so I didn’t say anything. After he finished, we got back in the truck and drove to our new campsite. I can hardly wait to see what adventures we’re going to have!
